The Gherkin this morning from Liverpool Street Station. Looks gorgeous in colour and black and white!
What better way to spend the first day of a new year than by doing the thing you like the best. With this in mind, I thought I’d wake up bright and early and take my camera and cycle out. But of course I woke late, listened to music, lingered over breakfast and then lunch. But it was such a beautiful day with the sun shining that I had to go out with my camera. I originally intended to go to the South Bank but as the bus passed the City, I spontaneously alighted. I was in the mood for some good shots of the Gherkin, another of my favourites from London’s beautiful skyline.
For the first bunch of photos I had on a 18-105mm lens but as I walked closer to the building I switched to the 11-16 mm Tokina. I’m very pleased with the results and couldn’t help uploading nearly all the pictures I’ve clicked. Some are repetitive but I love looking at the same object from different angles. (One crib I have is that resizing has made some pictures look slightly grainy).
